Description:
With a career record of 420-273 and an MSU mark of 340-220, Jud Heathcote has more than stood the test of time and is the fifth-winningest coach in Big Ten history. He directed the Spartan program to the 1979 NCAA Championship, three Big Ten titles, and all seven of the Spartans' 20-win seasons. He was named National Coach of the Year by his peers in 1990 and earned similar honors from national publications, as the "Jud Farewell Tour" swept the Midwest. For the 1994-95 campaign, the Spartans finished 14-4 in the Big Ten and 22-6 overall.
